Forty Winks Scarf

In Crochet, One skein projects, Patterns, Scarves, Shop sample available, Super bulky weight yarn by Shannon

This adorable scarf came together while my lovely little ladies were taking their afternoon naps one weekend. It’s the perfect project for when you have a limited amount of time to yourself. Plus, there’s just something about crocheting granny squares on such a mammoth scale. Not only are they quick and easy to make, they just look so darned awesome, AND it makes a basic crocheter feel like she can crochet. This scarf is also a showpiece for a very special, very large button, so have fun with it!

Materials

  • Finished Measurements: 41″ long, 8.5” wide. Measured after blocking.
  • Yarn: approximately 120 yards super-bulky-weight yarn. I used Malabrigo Rasta, colorways Laguna Negra (grey/brown) and Oxido (reddish).
  • Hook: US N/10 mm (or size to get gauge) crochet hook.
  • Notions: stitch markers, tapestry needle.
  • Gauge: 7.5 stitches and 4 rows = 4”/10 cm in double crochet, although gauge is not crucial.
