If you’re looking for a simple hat, and a reason to mix colors like crazy, look no further. This hat is a great mindless knitting project, perfect for last-minute stash-busting gift-knitting.

Materials

  • Finished Measurements: Extra Small (Small, Medium, Large): 16 (18, 20, 22)” circumference; 7.75 (8, 8.25, 8.75)” from brim to top.
  • Yarn: approximately 100 (120, 140, 160) yards worsted-weight yarn. I used Knitted Wit Worsted in Kiss ‘n Teal & Liberally Bleeding Heart
  • Needles: US7/4.5mm (or size to obtain gauge) and one size smaller (for ribbing). Use your preferred small-circumference-knitting needles.
  • Notions: stitch markers, tapestry needle.
  • Gauge: 20 sts & 26 rs = 4″/10 cm in stockinette stitch, measured after blocking.
