Skyscraper Scarf

So, true confession time. I’ve never been one for video games, and even with a smart phone of my very own, games aren’t really a part of my daily grind. But, a few months ago, I installed an app called Tiny Tower on my I-pad, and I gotta tell you, I got hooked. When I was finishing this scarf, my mister saw it and exclaimed, “Tiny Tower!” I couldn’t very well name the scarf after my erstwhile video game obsession, but Skyscraper Scarf is a nod to my ever-growing Tiny Tower.

Materials

  • Finished Measurements: 6″ wide, 62″ long.
  • Yarn: approximately 290 yards total worsted-weight yarn, split between two colors: color A: 200 yards; color B: 90 yards. I used Malabrigo Worsted for both scarves shown. The dark grey and yellow is in Tortuga (cA) & Frank Ochre (cB) and the light green and orange one is in Water Green (cA) & Sunset (cB).
  • Needles: US9/5.5mm needle for flat knitting, or size needed to get gauge.
  • Notions: stitch markers, tapestry needle.
  • Gauge: 16 stitches = 4”/10 cm in stockinette stitch, after blocking.
