Spell Cowl

In Cowls, Fingering weight yarn, Patterns, Shop sample available by Shannon

While wearing my myriad Spell Shawls this fall, I’ve found myself obsessed with the idea of a cowl version, so here you go!

Materials

  • Finished Measurements: Single loop cowl: 8.5″ wide x 26″ long. Double loop cowl: 8.5″ wide x 53″ long.
  • Yarn: approximately (450) 775 yards total fingering-weight yarn, divided equally between the number of colors you are using. I used Knitted Wit Victory Sock in Monet’s Garden (cA) & Actually… (cB) for the single loop cowl and Hedgehog Fibres Sock in Oracle (cA), Shiver (cB), & Zephyr (cC) for the double-loop cowl.
  • Needles: US7/4.5mm needle for flat knitting, or size needed to get gauge.
  • Notions: stitch markers, tapestry needle.
  • Gauge: 21 sts & 21 rows = 4″/10 cm in pattern with yarn held doubled, measured after blocking.
