A Little Something

In Bulky weight yarn, Cowls, Patterns by Shannon

Materials

This is just a little something to keep your neck warm (while looking super cute!) this fall and winter. One skein of bulky-weight yarn will give you the perfect neckwarmer, and a pom-pom will keep it closed.

  • Finished Measurements: 6″/15 cm deep, 19.5″/49.5 cm long.
  • Yarn: approximately 130 yards/119 m bulky- weight yarn. I used Knitted Wit Bulky in Basic Witch (purples) and Squad Gourd (yellow-green).
  • Needles: US10/6mm needle for flat knitting, or size needed to get gauge, plus 2 DPNs of the same size for the I-cord. If you are using a circular needle, you can forgo the DPNs and use the circular for your I-cord.
  • Notions: Tapestry needle, 2″/5 cm pom-pom maker (either store-bought or homemade). Here’s a link to a DIY pom-pom maker; I used the smallest one for the pom-pom for this piece: https://tinyurl.com/y2c84e35
  • Gauge: 14 sts & 21 Rs = 4″/10 cm in garter stitch, worked flat, measured after blocking.
