Happy New Year!

I feel like my new year begins once the kiddos go back to school. New Year’s Day is great and all, and we had lots of giggles and snuggles, and I went to Knitted Wit’s Open Studio and crafted with fantastic peeps, but buckling down and setting goals, planning the new year, getting shit organized is so hard to do the last day of a loooong winter break (with a new puppy, to boot!). So, today is the day I actually get some plotting and planning done.

Emerging Newsletter Shawl + 2018 Goal Setting

Are you setting goals? Working on resolutions? Trying to be more organized/healthy/mindful/something this new year? One thing that keeps popping into my head as I think about what I want 2018 to be is this old song, maybe from a Schoolhouse Rock or something:

You’ve got to…
Accentuate the positive
Eliminate the negative
Latch on to the affirmative
And don’t mess with mister in-between…

A bit pie-in-the-sky-y, perhaps, but a good overarching goal for the new year. Letting the bad go, embracing the good, staying as positive as possible, giving things the benefit of the doubt. Let’s do this, 2018!
