He said he wanted a hat, so I made him a hat. He is happy with the hat, which makes me happy.   • Finished Measurements: Hat: Small/Medium [Large/Extra Large]: 20 [22]” circumference; 8 [8.25]” from cuff to top. Cowl: 25″ circumference; 13″ tall.Skill Level: Advanced beginner.
  • Yarn: approximately 120 (135) yards aran- or bulky-weight yarn. I used a yarn just like Knitted Wit Targhee Aran, colorway unknown.
  • Needles: US9/5.5mm needle for small-circumference circular knitting, or size needed to get gauge.
  • Notions: stitch markers, tapestry needle.
  • Gauge: 16 stitches = 4”/10 cm in stockinette stitch, after blocking.
