Ananke was my very first pattern, and remains my very-most popular one, too. I don’t know what it is, exactly, about this pattern that has made it rise to the top of my designs, but I suspect it’s the simplicity of the design. The simple and meditative pattern lends itself well to knitting while living life, and the stitch patterns complement highly variegated yarns very well.
When I got this skein of Knitted Wit Single Fingering in Supernova, I knew it wanted to be a bigger version of Ananke. With the help (and needles) of yet another fantastic sample knitter, this project came to life in light-speed!
I’ve seen it in self-striping, in big-contrast, in subtly-speckled yarns, and they all look great.
Will you make or have you made Ananke? What’s the perfect Ananke yarn, do you think?
