Knit it: the Sand and the Sea Cowl

In Blog, Knittish by Shannon1 Comment

the Sand and the Sea Cowl was inspired by the beauty of the Oregon Coast, along which the Yarn Crawl 101 journeyed. The slipped stitches recall a sandy beach, whereas the mesh sections are inspired by all of the lovely texture the Pacific Ocean shares with us. It’s a fabulous excuse to mix two complementary colors, inspired by the ocean of your dreams.

The pattern was offered as a complementary gift to all of those brave and enterprising souls who completed the entire Yarn Crawl 101 and turned in their passports. From all reports, it really was the prettiest yarn crawl around!

It’s now available to purchase, and I’ll tell you what, it was so much fun to knit. I love me some textured stitches, I love me some mesh, AND I love me some color play. Add in a sadly-discontinued yarn that’s been in my stash forever just waiting for the perfect project, and you’ve got one heck of a fun knit. Plus, it’s oh, so wearable. I love this cowl, and am looking forward to seeing it in different colors.
