Lambency: the quality of being softly bright or radiant. The perfect descriptor for the marriage of the Knitted Wit Glow Up Rainbow and the magical Kelp Cakes. This project was a happy-making, life-brightening endeavor from start to finish; I hope it proves to be the same for you.

Materials

  • Finished Measurements: 78”/198 cm wingspan, 16”/40.5 cm deep at center, measured after blocking
  • Yarn: approximately 670 yards/613 m fingering-weight yarn. I used Knitted Wit Fingering in Kelp Cakes (mc, 400 yds/366 m) and Knitted Wit Gumballs in Glow Up! Sixlet set (ccA-F, 45 yds/41 m each, so 270 yds/247 m total).
  • Needles: US 5/3.5mm (or size to obtain gauge) for flat knitting.
  • Notions: stitch markers, tapestry needle.
  • Gauge: 20 sts & 48 Rs = 4”/10 cm in garter stitch, measured after blocking. 20 sts & 38 Rs = 4”/10 cm in Lace Pattern stitch, measured after blocking.
