This is one of my very favorite handknits ever. Every lace-weight yarn I see calls out to become one. I need one in every color, because right now I plan outfits around my Mesh Leaf Cowl – no joke. It’s easy, intuitive, comfortable, soft, and beautiful.

Materials

  • Finished Measurements: 12” wide, 68” circumference.
  • Yarn: Lace weight: approximately 550 yards lace-weight yarn. I used Filatura di Crosa Superior, colorway 55 Light Teal. Fingering weight: approximately 400 yards lace-weight yarn.
  • Needles: Lace weight: US3/3.25mm needle for flat knitting, or size needed to get gauge. Fingering weight: US4/3.5mm needle for flat knitting, or size needed to get gauge.
  • Notions: stitch markers, tapestry needle.
  • Gauge: Lace weight: 28 sts = 4”/10 cm in stockinette stitch, measured after blocking. Fingering weight: 24 sts = 4”/10 cm in stockinette stitch, measured after blocking.
