Mystery along!

Whether or not we’re ready, it’s Fall. Schools are starting back up all over, the air wants to be more crispy than sweltering, and I don’t know about you all, but I’m ready to get back into daily, obsessive knitting.

To that end, Tina, the color goddess (and everything else) at Blue Moon Fiber Arts and I have partnered up to bring you a Mystery Knit a Long! It’ll be a 4-week journey (starting on Wednesday, September 24th), and your finished object will be a shawlette. The recommended yarn is YAKSI Fingering, also known as my new favorite yarn. The base color of this yarn is a stunning pewter, which means colors are absorbed differently, darker, more subtly. Gorgeous.

This pattern is advanced beginner, and you should be comfortable with simple lace, increasing and short-rows.

I’d definitely recommend contrast in your colors. I used Ochroid and Shoqua for my first and Winter Blues and Boysenberry for my second. You’ll need approximately 620 yards of fingering-weight yarn total, split pretty equally between two colors. Other details are as follows:
Needles: US #3/3.25mm circular needle or size to get gauge.
Notions: Stitch marker, tapestry needle.
Gauge: 24 sts and 46 rows = 4”/10cm in garter stitch.

Tina has generously offered a 15% discount for folks who purchase the pattern and want to get Yaksi Fingering. Head on over to the pattern page on Ravelry, buy the pattern, and then head back to Blue Moon Fiber Arts ( to get your yarn.

We are so excited, and hope you are too!
