Rasta Cape

Sometimes, you just want something a bit… saucier than a cowl or a scarf. That’s where this cape comes in – using mesh lace and an I-cord button loop, this is a quick and easy project that really ups your fancy quotient.

Materials

  • Finished Measurements: 25″ at neck, 53″ at bottom, 17″ deep. The cape pictured was lightly wet-blocked.
  • Yarn: approximately 180 yards super-bulky-weight yarn. I used Malabrigo Rasta, colorway Piedras.
  • Needles: US17/35mm (or size to get gauge) for working flat.
  • Notions: one BIG button, stitch markers, tapestry needle.
  • Gauge: 8 stitches = 4”/10 cm in stockinette stitch, after blocking.
