Reading goals for 2018

The last couple of years, I’ve set reading goals on Goodreads, and, up until last year, I achieved them. Are you on Goodreads? It’s a pretty cool way to set goals and find good books. Anyway, last year, I set 50 books as my goal (I had read 59 in 2016 and 67 in 2015, so I thought 50 was totes reasonable), and I only read 43. Yikes. I know, I know, I should be pleased and proud to have read 43, because that’s actually a lot of books. I’m just disappointed that I missed achieving my goals…

At any rate, my goal for 2018 is once again 50, and I’m off to a decent start. I’ve read two already this year: Cibola Burn by James SA Corey (book 4 of the Expanse series, which is an excellent space opera series that’s made even better by an excellent space opera TV show), and Heartless by Marissa Meyer. She wrote the Cinder series which I read a few years ago and loved. Heartless is about the Queen of Hearts in Alice’s Adventures in Wonderland before she became the heartless Queen of Hearts. It was a super fast and fun diversion book, which I love.

How about you? Are you a reader? Do you set goals, on Goodreads or elsewhere? Do you track what you read? Write about it? Blog about it?
