American Spy by Lauren Wilkinson

This book was great – a spy book, from the perspective of a Black woman who went into the spy game to honor her family, and was used by the same folks who used her sister. It was all told as journal entries to her twin sons, and I loved both the story and the storytelling.

Hate to Want You by Alisha Rai

Sexy little romance book, first in a series of ?? (I’m currently reading #2). It’s a family drama, star-crossed lovers, fighting against feelings kind of a book.

Get a Life, Chloe Brown by Talia Hibbert

Another sweet little romance. Gosh, who am I? I have never read this much romance in my life, but the escape is really helpful for me with the trauma of life in 2020.

Wrong to Need You by Alisha Rai

The next one in the Alisha Rai series. Sweet and sexy and quick, just what the pandemic doctor ordered.

Deathless Divide by Justina Ireland

The second in the dualogy (is that the word for 2 books in a series?) about the zombie apocalypse that rose during the Civil War, and how slavery and racism just kept on keeping on throughout it all. This series is so good, y’all. The main character is beautifully flawed and all of the characters have such wonderful depth. Highly recommend these books, and can’t wait to read more from this author.

Hurts to Love You by Alisha Rai

This is the third book in this little trilogy. Who am I, reading all of these romance books? Any-hoo, Alisha Rai is a national treasure and everyone should follow her on Instagram.
