Slip Away

In Fingering weight yarn, Patterns, Socks, Toe Up by Shannon

Slip those worries away as you work your way through this fun slipped-stitch pattern and create an awesome pair of socks. The pattern looks equally fab in a highly variegated skein and a more tonal colorway.

Materials

  • Finished Measurements: Small (Medium, Large): 6.75 (7.75, 8.75)“/17 (20, 22) cm foot circumference. 54 (62, 70) sts total. Leg length is measured from top of heel and is completely customizable. Socks in Extended Camping Trip are shown with a 3”/7.5 cm leg length, and socks in Lemongrass are shown with a 4”/10 cm leg length (measured from the top of heel).
  • Yarn: Approximately 225-500 yds/206-457 m total fingering-weight yarn. For the socks shown, I used Knitted Wit Sock in Extended Camping Trip (pink/blue version) and Lemongrass (green version).
  • Needles: US1/2.25mm needle for small-circumference knitting, or size needed to get gauge. I use a 32” circular for magic-loop knitting.
  • Notions: stitch markers, tapestry needle.
  • Gauge: 32 sts & 44 rounds = 4”/10 cm in stockinette stitch in the round, measured after blocking.
