Socks for Busy B’s THREE!

In Blog, Knittish by Shannon2 Comments

Just in time for the much-anticipated Summertime Sock Knitting Extravaganza, aka Socks on Vacay 2018, I’m releasing my third collection of Socks for Busy B’s… Three sock patterns, all using some of Knitted Wit’s magical colorways, showcasing both fingering-weight AND DK-weight yarns. All patterns are super ideal for lazy summertime sock knitting, and all are extremely eligible for #socksonvacay knitting.

I’m trying something a little different with the release of this collection: today, only one pattern is included in the collection, and then once a week for the next two weeks, on Monday, I’ll be releasing another pattern. With each new release the price will go up a bit. So, if you purchase the collection from now until June 4th, it’s only $10, and you’ll be able to start on Free Time. On June 4th, I’ll be releasing the second sock, Down Time, and the price will go up to $12.50, where it will remain from then until June 11th, when the third and final pattern, Spare Time is released, and the price will go up to $15, the final price for the collection.

BUT, you’ll be able to see all of the socks, because they are all done and photographed, and you can totally order your yarn from Knitted Wit, because she’s amazing and has listed all of the colors I used for my samples. The collection has a pdf with all of this information listed!

Without further ado, meet the socks of Socks for Busy B’s 3

Free Time

Got some Free Time? Then look no further than these awesome socks! Putting color combos together is almost as much fun as the actual knitting of the socks, which goes soooo fast because the color changes are such fun! Free Time uses two colors of fingering-weight yarn (although I’m dying to work a pair up in one color just to see how it looks), and the pattern is written for both toe-up and cuff-down options.

Down Time

Down Time are the DK-weight socks in this collection. They’ll be releasing on Monday, June 4th, so get your size US3s all ready! You can make a super-short ankle sock, or keep on keeping on, and work till mid-calf. The textured pattern is so much fun to work, and for every three rounds of pattern, you’ve got three rounds of smooth stockinette to get back to your happy place. This also has both toe-up and cuff-down instructions, and in DK-weight yarn, you know they’ll fly right off of your needles!

Spare Time

Use your Spare Time wisely, say, by making these fun and funky ribbed socks with some wee faux cables to add a twist to your day! Written for toe-up sock knitting only (although the cuff-down version is in development), they’re fast and fun and the gusset increases are a wee bit different than normal. Add a leafy picot cuff to the top, and you’ve got some magically saucy socks. Spare Time releases on Monday, June 11th, so order your Kelp Cakes (the colorway I used) now!
