Last fall, I debuted the Spell Shawl for use with Blue Moon Fiber Arts’ fabulous Featherlight Gradient Kits. I made two and fell in love.

Then I started casting around my stash for sprinkles and speckles to use in the pattern. I made two more speckly Spell Shawls in quick succession, and declared myself an addict. I designed the Spell Cowl as a companion, and the pattern just kind of sat in my brain, whispering to me every time I saw a few speckles that looked good together.

Then, in prep for TNNA this past summer, Lorajean and I decided to pair the Spell Shawl with her newest yarn, Merino Shimmer Fingering. We put three kits together and sold them at Sample It! and it was a big success. Shops are starting to share their Spell Shawls, and LJ and I got inspired yet again.

Lorajean loves Luluroe. Like, LOVES it. She has hosted pop-up shops in her studio, and takes part in the Facebook Live sales her favorite Luluroe sellers host. She had this stellar idea to do a Facebook Live sale for the Spell Shawl kits, and we did our practice run last week. It was so much fun! For those who missed it, it will live forever on her Facebook page, so if you have a spare hour and a hanker for giggles, check it out.
We are hosting our second one tonight, and this one is all about the yarn. We are selling kits for the Spell Shawl, in readiness for the KAL that will begin on September 21st. We’re going to cast that one on as a Facebook Live video, too. We’re on a roll, and we’re not going to stop at any point! In fact, we’ll be FB Live’ing (or Skype’ing, we haven’t hammered out the deets on that yet) at a LYS, too.
