The latest sew-stuff

In Blog, DIY by ShannonLeave a Comment

I’m sewing at Lorajean’s studio once a month, and I was hoping that would inspire more off-the-cuff sewing, but that has not yet been the case. Which is fine, because I’ve gotten two dresses completely made at these sewing dates, but I have a wee pile of other stuff cut out that I’d love to get finished and off of my to-do list, plus I’ve got my sewing goals for the year (discussed in a previous post). My two latest dresses, however, have quickly become two of my favorites.

Number one: the yellow grellow goodness dress, as yellow-i-fied as possible…

And here with her same, same, but different opposite dress sister…

And number two: the bright school girl’y plaid number that makes my heart sing…

I’m a bit sad to note that, with these two, that exhausts my already-cut-out supply of Dress No. 1’s, and I don’t even think I have fabric for another at this exact moment in time (as you know, these things can change on a dime. Fabric Depot is, after all, just 9 blocks from my house…) A part of me thinks that next month, I should tackle something I haven’t done before, like those pants I’ve been dying to make, or the Metamorphic Dress. I’ll keep you posted.
