Walzer Cowl

In Aran weight yarn, Bulky weight yarn, Cowls, One skein projects, Patterns by Shannon

This cowl reminds me of a Tilt-a-Whirl, because of the spinning, spiraling eyelets, and a Walzer is the British word for a Tilt-a-Whirl. There you go, and Bob’s yer uncle. Soft, quick, pretty, fun. This cowl has it all. It’s the perfect quick-knit, designed to highlight one fabulous skein of chunky-weight yarn, and just the thing for quick holiday knitting.

  • Finished Measurements: approximately 9″ tall and 24” circumference.
  • Yarn: 120 yards chunky-weight yarn. I used Imperial Stock Ranch Native Twist, colorway Dusty Rose.
  • Needles: US13/9mm needle for small circumference knitting, or size needed to get gauge.
  • Notions: stitch markers, tapestry needle.
  • Gauge: 9 sts = 4”/10 cm in stockinette stitch, measured after blocking.
