Grab your crystals and your herbs, folks, because the witching hour is upon us. A dramatic edging and fun fringe adds a bit of drama to this top-down triangular shawl.

Materials

  • Finished Measurements: Wingspan: 80”/203 cm; depth at center: 22”/56 cm; measured after blocking and without fringe.
  • Yarn: approximately 690 yds/631 m fingering-weight yarn. I used Knitted Wit Sock in Canopy (mc, 420 yds/384 m) and Witchy Sixlet of Smarties (ccA-F, 45 yds/41 m each; more info in PATTERN NOTES). Fringe: You will also need approximately 45 yards/41 m total for the fringe, which you’ll get from the leftovers from the Smarties (above).
  • Needles: US5/3.75mm (or size to obtain gauge) circular needle, 24”/60 cm or longer
  • Notions: stitch markers, tapestry needle.
  • Gauge: 20 sts & 22 Rs = 4”/10 cm in garter stitch worked flat, measured after blocking.
