Check Your Head

So what’cha, what’cha, what’cha want, what’cha want?
I get so funny with my money that you flaunt
I said, “Where’d you get your information from,” huh?
You think that you can front when revelation comes?

Ever since I decided on the name Check Your Head for my latest hat pattern, I’ve had this song running on an almost-constant stream through my brain. Not that that’s a bad thing, because I love the Beastie Boys, and haven’t spent much time with them recently, but any ear worm gets a bit tiring after a while, don’tcha think?

I have a really hard time naming patterns sometimes. This one was initially Checkerhead, because of the checkerboard-esque stitch pattern. I tried to find a name that was Seattle-esque, because I designed it for the FOURTH Sheepish in Seattle trip, but nothing seemed to mesh quite right. And then I was saying Checkerhead to myself kind of quickly, and Check Your Head jumped up, and What’cha want started playing on repeat, and here we are.

Check out Check Your Head, and make one for the person who gives you ear worms the most. Or your bestie. Or your partner. Or whomever deserves a hug around their head. It’s a super fun pattern, and you really won’t be sorry. Even (or especially) if you get the Beasties stuck in your head.
