Knit it: The Piedras Collection

In Blog, Knittish by Shannon3 Comments

Wow. Today was a big day for me. I released a project I’ve been working on for a very long time (and, in fact, was absolutely finishing a few things while on our big road trip from my last few posts) – my Malabrigo Freelance Pattern Project! It’s called the Piedras Collection. You can get the whole she-bang for $15, or each pattern individually for either $5 or $6, depending on the pattern.

The Piedras Collection grew from a single skein of yarn – a skein of Rastita in the colorway Piedras that kind of totally made me fall in love with it. I paired it with Natural, and created the Jasper Shawlette. After that, I was hooked.

I couldn’t get enough of the this colorway – there’s just so much going on! It just seemed right to build a collection inspired by the rainbow-y goodness that is river rocks.

Both the Beach Agate Sweater and the Beach Agate Hat use Rios in Piedras.

This Jasper Shawlette uses Archangel & Natural, and it matches and complements Piedras so much and is amazeballs.

The Opal Cowl pulls the colors out of Piedras, using a rainbow of Malabrigo Lace goodness.

The Jasper Cowl uses Natural and Mostaza, which complements Piedras in the best and dirty-green-iest way possible.

All of the pieces are perfect for cool walks on the beach, looking for treasures, and the color combos are endless. Keep your eyes peeled in the next few weeks for a Piedras Collection KAL and some prizes.
