Socks remain my go-to / on-the-go / go-anywhere project. In 2018 so far, I have only finished two actual socks, but they kind of make a pair, if you squint and turn your head a bit to one side…
The left sock is from 2017’s HerStory Sock Club: Casa del Colores, in honor of Carmen Yulin Cruz, mayor of San Juan, Puerto Rico, and hero to many for her tireless work on behalf of PR and her unwillingness to be bullied by the bully-in-chief, fucking Trump. It’s bright and beautiful and hopeful and fantastic.
The right sock is January 2018’s color, Radioactive Rainbow, in honor of Marie Curie. I do believe “bright” is my sock code-word for the beginning of the year…
I don’t have much of a plan for my HerStory skeins, except that I totally want to knit more of them than I did my 2017 skeins. I might make them all Stumptown Socks. That’d be super fun, wouldn’t it? Are you doing Knitted Wit’s HerStory Sock Club? What’s your plan for getting your socks done?
