We Belong Together, a collaboration

Pat Benatar really speaks to me, folks. Her music is so rocking, so kick-ass, so yeah-get-it-girls’y. My little ladies and I listen to her a lot, and there are some songs that take me back to a specific time in my teenager-hood, that every time I hear them, I am transported. We Belong is one of them, and, as I worked up the sample for my collaboration with Kayanna from Stitch Together Studio, I couldn’t help but sing this song as each stitch was created.

I met Kayanna through Instagram. She was looking for designers to collab with, and I had been admiring her aesthetics for a while. It seemed like a great fit. We started talking, and found a real mutual admiration and respect for each other.

We Belong Together is our first official collaboration. We worked on another collab earlier in the year, but due to big changes in her business, have yet to release it. It’s coming, though, and it’s awesome (it’s also named after a song – I think Kayanna’s yarn puts me in a singing mood). We Belong Together uses two skeins of DK-weight yarn, and features an asymmetric triangle shape with texture and easy lace and stripes. So, pretty much my knitterly happy place. She put together some amazeballs kits, which you can snag (with the pattern) here, or you can get the pattern on its own, starting today, here, and use the coupon code patbenatarrocks for 20% off!

Look for more collaborations with this awesome maker. I’m so excited about working more with her in the future!
