There’s still time!

If you need to knit something last-minute for the holidays, don’t despair! There is still time, and I’ve got a few last-minute-y patterns perfect for gifting. That’s not to say that you couldn’t snag a gift card for your loved one and just make these for yourself, if that’s what you want, wink-wink.

First up, one of my latest patterns, the Ditty Cowl. Using 120-140 yards of super bulky weight yarn (might I suggest my two favorites, Blue Moon Fiber Arts Sookie and Knitted Wit’s Cotton Candy), this cowl is finished almost before you start it. It’s huge, but it’s really just a little ditty of knitting.

Another new pattern of mine is also a great last-minute gift: The Ball Cap. It’s sized for any head you might need to knit for, and is both fast and adorable. Added bonus: $3 from every pattern sale will go to cancer research. I’m still narrowing down the organizations I’ll be donating to, but will post that info once I’ve got it figured out.

If it’s a comfy wrap you want to make, you can’t go wrong with the Jazz Age Shawlette. It’s garter stitch with a big old cable – what could be more comforting? In a heavy-worsted to aran-weight yarn, it’s one of the fastest shawlettes you could hope to make.

For pure decadent goodness, super-bulky socks are an amazing gift idea. TV Time Socks are made with super bulky weight yarn (think Sookie or Cotton Candy again), and are easy to make with toe-up construction and short-row heels.

Ok folks, one more super bulky weight pattern, because those are the ones with the biggest bang for your knitting buck. Tea & Picots is a huge shawlette, knitted asymmetrically with a gorgeous and reversible meshy pattern. Easy to execute, squishy to wear, this is one of my recent faves.

TeaPicots-2Do you still have holiday crafting to do? What will you cast on?
