the Accountability Post, 2020

It’s always kind of awkward, sharing information about money and finances. But, accountability is important, particularly when something is as important as this. And, if I’m asking you to support my business with the purchase of my patterns so I can donate money to organizations that are doing good work, I must share that I did, in fact, do that. To that end, I’ll use this post to list out all of the places I donate to throughout the year, and if the donations are tied to a fundraiser I have or hold, I’ll share how much I donated.

In August 2020 I donated:

  • 10% of pattern proceeds to the Loveland Foundation

In July 2020, I donated:

  • 10% of pattern proceeds to the Black Resilience Fund

 June 2020, I donated:

  • 10% of the proceeds from pattern sales to the Marsha P. Johnson Foundation (pattern sales were way down because of the Ravelry accessibility debacle). I rounded up, because it was meagre, folks.
  • Black Mamas Matter Alliance (6/4)
  • National Bail Out (6/4)

In May 2020, I donated 25% of the proceeds from pattern sales split between the following (I added a bit to be able to donate more):

  • Oregon Food Bank: $250
  • Black Lives Matter:  $110
  • The Bail Project: $50
  • NAACP Legal Defense Fund: $50
  • We the Protestors: $50

5/30: Unicorn Riot

5/30: Reclaim the Block

5/30: Minnesota Freedom Fund

5/29: Black Lives Matter

5/5: the Loveland Foundation

In April 2020, I donated 25% of the proceeds from pattern sales to the Oregon Food Bank: $258.50

4/17: Oregon Food Bank

In February 2020, I was a part of the Lots of Socks KAL organized by Paper Daisy Creations, and I donated $1322.75 to Down Syndrome International.

Ongoing monthly donations:

Planned Parenthood: $15/month

RAICES Texas: $15/month
